Staff

Steven Marwick

Director Steven Marwick

Steven was Evaluation Support Scotland's first member of staff. He has overall responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the organisation. He reports to the Board of Trustees and manages the staff team. He is also ESS’s company secretary. Steven has a wide experience in policy-making, voluntary sector funding and supporting evaluation. His previous jobs include working for the Community Fund, the Government and as a freelance consultant. He is a member of the Evaluation Committee of the Economic and Social Research Council and a Trustee of the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO).

Diane Kennedy

Evaluation Support Manager Diane Kennedy - Evaluation Support Officer

Diane joined the team in October 2007. Diane provides one to one support for organisations and takes a lead on programmes to improve understanding of outcomes and measurement in the voluntary sector. Prior to working for ESS she worked for SCVO for 6.5 years on quality and organisational development projects. She has worked for Edinburgh Cyrenians, Citizens Advice Scotland and Rights Office Fife. Diane has lots of volunteer experience, including a 3.5 year stint in Ghana through Voluntary Services Overseas. She sit on the Parent Council of Drummond Community High School.

Graeme Reekie

Evaluation Support Manager

Graeme Reekie

Graeme joined in 2008, initially managing our training strategy and now taking a lead on Evaluation Support Accounts, helping funders and funded organisations. Most of Graeme's career has been in disability and mental health, supporting people into housing, education and employment. He has also worked as a freelance training consultant and has been a trustee of the mental health charity Penumbra since 2006. Graeme has Post Graduate Certificates in Knowledge Management and Business Administration and is studying part-time towards an MBA.

Cecilia Corcoran

Finance and Administration Manager

Cecilia joined ESS in March 2009 and is in charge of running the internal systems of Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS).   She manages ESS’s finance and administrative systems and provides support to the Board of Trustees.  She is often the first point of contact for ESS’s clients and partners.  Cecilia has worked for a number of voluntary organisations in Scotland including LGBT Youth, YWCA Scotland and One Parent Families Scotland. 

Patty Lozano-Casal

Policy and Development Manager

Patty is the newest member of the team and joined ESS in September 2011. She draws from her previous experience in research and policy development and implementation to promote the use of (self)-evaluation and evidence among policy makers. Patty has a PhD in Chemistry, postdoctoral research experience and she worked at the Scottish Government in the area of regulation of care, sponsoring the regulator of care services in Scotalnd. Her work on developing legislation includes contributing to the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 and associated regulations that set up the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS).
